[vc_row][vc_column][dt_fancy_title title=”everydayresearchmethods.com” title_align=”left” title_size=”small”][vc_column_text]If you are the typical Womeneur dynamo, then you are on top of managing your social media platforms. But what happens when you realize that the time you spent on social media isn’t enough to promote your brand, connect with existing clients, or make new ones? Yes, we all know about buying followers, but bought followers aren’t necessarily loyal followers and they don’t RT. Real followers are people and companies that you have made a connection with and are those who appreciate what you bring to the table; these are the people that will more than likely RT your content. In addition, new followers who believe in your brand become loyal clients. But how you can manage all that, along with your career, and your family?
1. Tweet Jukebox
I do what Womeneur do best, find a solution to a problem, in this case it was managing my twitter. So, I sought out a company who would essentially tweet a series of inspirational quotes, and in between the quotes schedule tweets of my own. My personal tweets promote my site and my brand. It’s what I use to drive people to my site, and my opt-in. So essentially, I have inspirational quotes tweeted out every two hrs. and intertwined is my brand ads with a link to my site. These ads are tweeted every five hrs. so my followers aren’t beat down with me selling them something. Tweet Jukebox is a free site that allows you to choose from their library of tweets anything from: motivational, facts, success, business, heath quotes and more. It has 10 pages of quotes/facts that you can download in your customized “My jukebox”. You can also schedule them according to days of the week, times and frequency. And they have tutorials for people like me who need extra help in understanding the in’s and out’s. The feature I like best, is the “schedule tweets tab”, because you get to feature your personal brand. You can use your logo and a catchy phrase, along with your website. Or you can design flyers with what you do, still driving potential clients to your business.
I must say I had some problems at first seeing the tweets and emailed the company. Who responded was the president of the company Tim Fargo, who was pleasant and professional. Do know, that I had emailed him at 3 am in the morning and he replied back to me in less than 10 min. that said a lot! Their product brought me, in less than 24hrs, more followers and more RT, and that’s what you want. The rest is up to you, to engage followers and develop new connections.
Another method to using your Twitter more effectively is to realize that making relationships are important. How do you do that? You do that, by engaging; making it a habit to RT and “favorite” other followers. It requires about ten minutes out of your day. Those ten min. are valuable in making connections. Potential clients are aware if you just keep promoting yourself and have no interest in them. Soon, they will have no interest in you, or your brand. Manners are key; this is a golden rule that many of our parents taught us. Make sure to send out thank you’s when they RT or favorite you. It makes people feel valued, and when they RT or fav your thanks, they are letting their followers know you are a person that values their time and input.
Also, follow those who are your targeted audience, for example, my audience is mommy bloggers, parents, and bookworms, to name a few. Make sure to send out direct messages once a month. Your messages should be to the point, have an image and provide a link that brings potentially new clients to you or your product. Your image should have a direct connection to your brand.
Lastly, Twitter owns Periscope, which it purchased in January 2015 and launched March of 2015. Periscope is a phone app that allows you to use your smartphone to record real time streaming. It is seen as the next level of connecting to people, both locally and abroad. I have seen it used for church sermons, national news, yoga teaching and just plain talking mess. I have also seen it promote people’s skills, products or brand by connecting to their audience. Your audience can see you and ask questions in real time and you can answer, almost like video chatting. Except, there are hundreds of people watching you, and you can’t see them, your video will remain up on the site for 24hrs. I suggest viewing it for about two weeks, to see how it works. I did try it for a month, and although it wasn’t for me, that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you! If your audience enjoys your topic you will get hearts (sending love). These hearts translates to your popularity and efficiency in delivering your message. Every time you start a new video on Periscope, your Twitter followers will be notified automatically. You can also develop online flyers to your social media platforms informing them of when you are streaming. Don’t rush the process, enjoy engaging, it is after all a social network.
